Iliterati.com launches new website for aspiring authors
A new website has been launched with the aim of helping aspiring authors to self-publish and promote their work. iliterati.com is a brand new social network aimed at connecting aspiring authors and discerning readers, putting authors in touch with the people reading their work and increasing the range of work available to readers.
Formed by Dave Connors in the belief that the traditional publishing and bookselling model fails both authors and readers, iliterati.com allows authors to electronically self-publish their work to find an immediate audience. The works are made available for download in a variety of e-book formats, meaning readers can find new and interesting voices they won't find in bookstores cluttered with generic copycats. Anyone interested can sign up at www.iliterati.com
“The success of e-book readers like the Kindle has the potential to revolutionise the publishing world in the same way as mp3 players changed music,” says Connors. “What myspace has done for musicians, iliterati is here to do for aspiring writers. Rather than hoping their manuscript is picked out of a pile by overworked and underpaid readers at a publishing house or agent, writers can take control of their career and start getting read by the public now.”
