Pearblossom Private School, Inc. Achieves Long-Term Accreditation Status

Jan. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- On January 10, 2011, Pearblossom Private School, Inc. had its follow-up accreditation site visit and subsequently was approved for accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Pearblossom staff and its advisory board diligently prepared a comprehensive 220-page Focus on Learning report  that presented both quantitative and qualitative analyses of data pertaining to Pearblossom Private School’s community profile, expected schoolwide learner outcomes, progress reports, self-study findings, and action plans—all of which were reviewed by Dr. David Brown, Executive Director of WASC.

WASC Accreditation offers the following advantages:
• Certification to the public that the school is a trustworthy institution of learning
• Validates the integrity of a school’s program and student transcripts
• Fosters improvement of the school’s programs and operations to support student learning
• Assures a school community that the school’s purposes are appropriate and being accomplished through a viable educational program
• A way to manage change through regular assessment, planning, implementing, monitoring and reassessment
• Assists a school/district in establishing its priority areas for improvement as a result of the perpetual accreditation cycle that includes
    o   School self-assessment of the current educational program for students
    o   Insight and perspective from the visiting committee
    o   Regular school staff assessment of progress through the intervening years between full self-studies.

Pearblossom Private School was started in 1988 and offers a quality curriculum for grades K through 12.  A high school diploma is issued to those students that satisfactorily complete the high school requirements.

Pearblossom Private School features online testing with instant grading of standardized chapter tests—developed by the school director, Gary S. Goldman, Ph.D. The student is given an opportunity to correct test questions that were marked as incorrect.

Pearblossom offers a wide range of math and science courses and has numerous elective courses that include practical as well as advanced subjects.  The majority of public and private schools in the United States generally are accredited by a single accreditation agency.  Pearblossom Private School is accredited by The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)--one of the six regional accreditation agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
