2010 Small Newspaper Media Award Presentation

The American Legion, of Colorado will present on Saturday, January 29, 2011, at 9:00 am, the 2010 Small Newspaper Media Award as part of our Mid-Year Conference

Jan. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- In an effort to continually thank the news media for the stories about veterans, veteran’s issues and the efforts of the individual American Legion Post to help the youth of their communities; The American Legion, of Colorado will present on Saturday, January 29, 2011, at 9:00 am, the 2010 Small Newspaper Media Award as part of our Mid-Year Conference being held at the Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center, located at 1775 E. Cheyenne Mountain Road, Colorado Springs Colorado

The Steamboat Pilot and Today, Steamboat Colorado is the recipient of this prestigious award for their continuing support of veterans and veteran related issues through the pages of your newspaper with such articles as “Gone But Not Forgotten” detailing the valiant mission of young Reina Sakly and her efforts to secure headstones for 11 forgotten veterans.  And, “The Cost of a Free Republic” and “What Draws us to the Cemetery on Memorial Day were excellent recounts of the history and the commitment ours veterans make to preserve our freedoms.

The media is welcome to attend this award presentation.
