By: LA Professional Express - Multiwave, Inc. The revelation of Chinese stealth capabilities substantiates concern regarding the rapid quantitative and qualitative growth of the already large Chinese military. American West Coasters have expressed worry that China’s continued growth tests American strength to remain the world’s hegemon and, also, that China could make undetected uninvited visits in the middle of the night to the United States. According to The New York Times, Secretary Gates asked President Tau about the coincidental timing China’s test flights upon his arrival in China. Tau played the demonstration off as happenstance. Meanwhile, President Obama greeted President Hu in Washington D.C., with a state dinner. Jackie Chan, Michelle Kwan and Democratic darling Barbara Streisand attended. The event has been cited in part to make up for lack the same during President Hu’s 2006 visit. In Los Angeles one asked, “Why should we favor U.S. hegemony over Chinese?” Another replied, “Because our government is run by a democracy, not a single party dictatorship.” Some Americans don’t welcome the Chinese rise: “They think their stuff is better than ours. Our stealths are named B-2 Spirit, F-117 Nighthawk, F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightening II. China calls their’s the J-20. F precedes J in the alphabet.” To others, the development signals a threat to the American border other than drug trade and terrorism. By Zein E.
