UrbanZing.com is a new lifestyle website that launched in the last part of the year 2010. It is designed to help today's time starved consumers make quicker and faster decisions. It's clutter free minimalistic design is meant to help consumers sift through essential information efficiently and quickly. The website is designed to be a one stop shop where not only can users find and share information but they can also plan, manage as well as stay connected to their social circles
“My website is for the social youth; people who are always on the go, and need to make quick and informed decisions and find immediate solutions. My aim is to create a website where people can find information about all their lifestyle needs and share their experiences at different business and service locations.” Said Reshmi Nath, CEO of urbanzing.com.
UrbanZing.com is different from all the other websites. For them it’s all about the users, who are both consumers and producers of information in this site, hence their slogan “your city, your voice”. Their philosophy is to let the users take charge of the content. At urbanZing.com users can add businesses write reviews, upload pictures and menus of restaurants they have visited, to name a few. UrbanZing wants to differentiate themselves from the other websites by their focus on users’ needs, by always being transparent and true to the users, by their simple and uncluttered design and constant innovation in both design and service offerings.

When asked “Why start with Kolkata?” Basabjeet Nag co-founder of urbanZing.com said “We have a lot of faith in the Kolkata market because of the huge population of young urban, internet savvy people who are not scared to try out new things and new food. While food is not the main thing in this website it is a large part and Kolkatans are nothing if not huge foodies, hence we chose kolkata to launch urbanZing.com”.

Reshmi who has spent the last ten years in the United States working for various tech companies and marketing companies and has done her MBA in Marketing from one of the top universities in the United States said “I have visited many cities in the world but no matter where I go nothing compares with Kolkata, my favourite city in the world. I love Kolkata not only because I am from Kolkata but also because of the people, the adda and of course the food.”  

Reshmi and Basabjeet are both very excited about the potential of the website and are confident that Kolkatans will find a lot of use for urbanZing and make it a part of their daily lives.
