Jan. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Beaufort, SC – Jan 19 – The 2011 Beaufort International Film Festival will be held February 16 - 20.   With entries from 24 countries, in the categories of Feature Films, Shorts, Animation, Student Films, Screenplays and Documentaries, the 5th annual Beaufort International Film Festival is ready for action. With more than 30 filmmakers from around the world about to make their way to the historic city of Beaufort, the focus is on the newest generation of filmmakers and storytellers as they share their passion projects with an adoring film loving public. “This promises to be our best festival yet. We’ve never had this many filmmakers attend and we are over-the-top with excitement, “stated Ron Tucker, Festival Director.  Our Finalist selections this year are the most diverse we’ve had in our short festival history, Tucker said.  The 2011 festival will also feature Beaufort filmmaker Michael Givens and his newest feature film Angel Camouflaged, starring James Brolin. Returning for a third appearance at the festival is London based filmmaker John Schwab whose film Rojin  is a Finalist in the Shorts category. Living for 32, a documentary that tells the inspirational story of Colin Goddard, a survivor of the tragic gun shooting massacre at Virginia Tech in 2007, will also make its South Carolina premiere. In addition to several great films, there will be a unique Screenwriter’s Table-Read facilitated by each Screenwriter Finalist.

In addition to the impressive attendance by the filmmakers, also appearing will be Emmy Winning American Composer Charles David Denler who will be presented the Jean Ribaut Award for Excellence in Music for Film. This year will also mark the inaugural presentation of the Santini Patriot Spirit Award which goes to that filmmaker whose film reflects positively on the American Military. This year’s recipient is Hollywood filmmaker Jonathan Flora for his film Lt. Dan Band: For the Common Good.
