Jan. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- The Patriarchs have been busy getting a new song and set list ready for their revisit to the Fisho’s. This time they will play in honour of the tragic victims of the Queensland floods where the treacherous waters ripped many building apart and the rebuild is now in progress.

The Patriarchs innovative Go-Go Grunge style has been developed and enhanced for this gig with the pick being their unique rendition of the Clash’s, “Band New Cadillac” and the syncopated beats of their original “Scaly Pecker”. The set is looking to be faster and punchier than ever.
The Patriarchs are guaranteed to rock the Manly Fisho’s and will expect plenty of punters to be crammed into the small 500 strong venue.
In the line up first up will be “FRET”. They will warm up the crowd and these guys are sensational, the sound these guys have is all their own but also strangely familiar. With a line up of band members scattered across Australia it is a rare and exceptional event to see these guys together and without a doubt the punters will be impressed.
FRET have been busy writing a whole bunch of new songs and the fruits of their tortured labours are ready to unleash on a live audience as will their back catalogue of live crowd favourites.

Performing in the middle set on the night will be Alternative Times. An off shoot of a popular band Van Bogan they are Mathew Woodward - guitar/vocals, Pete Brunton - lead guitar / vocals, Michael Collins - bass / Greg Clark - drums.
All born and bred on the northern beaches, all in and out of various bands and musical combos over the years we have finally teamed up for a slightly different take on playing covers. As their name suggests they take the road less travelled when choosing material, much to the delight of the audience who generally find they remember more words than they have forgotten. Mixing some slightly off centre classics with contemporary gems, and giving them the Alternatives Times feel has been a great hit at parties and corporate functions.

Headlining the evening will be the Patriarchs; the Patriarchs were forged by mutual interests in the northern beaches - the band first came together as a response to a need to perform live music as it was in the late 70s and early 80s when bands like Birdman, Celebrate Rifles and the Laughing Clowns cut there teeth in the vibrant Sydney pub scene.

The founding members, Serge "Roller door" Shultz, the chief engineer of the "Full Steam Ahead" style engine room, Bruce "Berzerko" England, the shredding lead guitarist and Mike "Tangles" Williamson, the primary song writer and rhythm guitarist, originally formed the band in early 2009. The band experimented with a few singers until Elliott Cunnew; a young rude boy from the east end of London showed an interest and it was an immediate success. Followed quickly by Adam Walsh bassist and John Singleton who has fronted such bands as “FRET” and “Spondonickle”, the band was complete and a new and innovative sound was formed. After writing their first GoGo-grunge inspired song “Gingham Dress“, the band started to form their unique sound. This song was quickly followed by “Girl Twister”, which now heads their live set.
Tickets available at the door: $10 Entry
