Proprietor of Everybody Reads, Scott Harris and Tamera Nielsen are advocates for Ele’s Place, a healing center for grieving children. Together the two hope to raise awareness and funds for Ele’s Place TLC Program, which provides supportive services to children coping with a family member’s life-threatening illness. Both have personal experience with this issue and the services provided by Ele’s Place.

“Trauma may be inevitable, but drama is a choice. How we react to trauma determines the process. Each word in this book has emerged out of my survival to overcome traumatic events - such as a life-threatening illness - and I created it to help others. To see the turnout and support – during the worst snowstorm of the year - at this book debut left me literally awestruck,” Nielsen says.
In her closing remarks, the author surprised Harris by donating the balance of the proceeds to Harris for his philanthropic work in the Lansing Region.
“What a wonderful evening! I am impressed by the depth and breadth of passion possessed by your friends and colleagues. You clearly bring a lot of joy and compassion into the world! Again, thank you for including us in such a wonderful evening,” Harris says about “Perspectives”
Mark Warner, Co-Owner and Videographer of Life in Lansing and Shannon Poynter, Lansing Photographer each documented Nielsen's book debut by donating photographic and videography services.
"I'm just doing what I learned from you. Give and it will all come back in time. Thank you," Poynter says.
Nielsen’s insight and observations on life have garnered worldwide attention and accolades via her social media and local outreach. Initial reviews from readers include local entrepreneurs, writers, artists, and photographers.
"It's a brilliant book," Jack Ebling, Editor of Lansing Sports Magazine says.
“Wow, what a great little book, filled with some great inspiration and wisdom, something that I could use in abundance right now. You did a fantastic job Tamera, it is very well done and I'm sure that it will help and inspire a lot of people. I know that I will be one of them. I will highly recommend it to everyone I know,” Charles J. Sickels Jr. says of his recent purchase of “Perspectives”
“Your perfect quotes matched with your personal photographs are a wonderful prescription for pausing, refocusing, and redirecting one’s energy to positive paths forward. A great resource to help bolster a stronger tomorrow for every reader.” ~ Roy Saper, Owner Saper Galleries.
