Jan. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Calling all superheroes! Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas (CCCS of Greater Dallas) is accepting entries for the 2011 Be Money Wi$e National Poster Contest, sponsored by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC). This year’s contest theme is: “Be A $uperhero!  $ave Money!”

As a member of the NFCC, CCCS of Greater Dallas is hosting the contest in the communities of its more than 20 locations. The contest is open to children in grades 3-12 to help educate students on personal finance topics, such as budgeting and saving, and provide a creative outlet for students to express themselves.

“We look forward to receiving the students’ entries and recognizing their hard work and creativity,” said Todd Mark, vice president of education for CCCS Dallas. “The contest is an opportunity for children to increase their financial literacy and learn the importance of saving money and using it wisely.”

Entries will be judged in three grade-specific categories: Elementary (grades 3 – 5), Middle (grades 6 – 8), and High (grades 9 – 12). Posters must be submitted on white paper/stock and may be between 8 ½” by 11” and 11” by 17” in size (11” by 17” is preferred). Original and computer-generated artwork will be accepted.

The deadline to submit poster entries to CCCS of Greater Dallas is February 11, 2011. Posters can be dropped off at any of the CCCS of Greater Dallas office locations listed at www.cccs.net or mailed to: CCCS of Greater Dallas Education Department, 8737 King George Drive, Dallas, TX 75235.

Winning local entries in each grade category will be submitted to the NFCC as national finalists. The national overall contest winner will be announced in early April, and will win a $500 savings bond and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. with a guardian to receive his or her award on Capitol Hill as part of Financial Literacy Month. National grade category winners will receive an award plaque and $100 savings bond.
