Jan. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- DVD duplication requirements may well be falling but demand has by no means gone by a long way. With the introduction of Blu-Ray (after the initial disputes as to which format High Definition would be offered by) it is quite obvious that as consumers switch to High Def players new releases are going to be split between DVD and Blu-Ray hence the natural reduction in demand for DVD. This switchover however is not going to be as rapid as it was for DVD from VHS. For one the cost of Blu-Ray is still very high (for manufacturing, licensing and therefore retail) and while this remains the case, DVD will remain the preferred media.

Another consideration is the quality of DVD is still exceptionally good and many people are more than satisfied with this therefore do not see the need for any upgrade. Unlike the dramatic improvement seen from VHS to DVD and of course the durability! Almost overnight the VHS died away as consumers even replaced their collection with the new DVD versions quickly released by the film companies. This latest upgrade will not see DVD collections replaced because as mentioned the quality is already very high but also Blu-Ray players will also play DVD discs. All of this adds up to choice for consumers and with no concern they will be buying something today that will not work tomorrow hence DVD duplication has a role to play for sometime yet!

http://www.digitaldiscduplication.co.uk/ is a not forgetting of course other uses for DVD rather than just movies! Many corporations present catalogues and presentations that quite simply do not need the huge capacity of Blu-Ray and therefore have no need to replace the DVD. Why go to extra expense to gain nothing? It is also only gradual that computers are equipped with Blu-Ray drives rather than DVD drives because of the cost. Especially during economic hardships consumers want to keep costs down while maintaining their needs so it could be some time yet before the DVD drive is completely replaced by Blu-Ray writers.

Although it is quite likely the Blu-Ray disc will eventually become the outright choice, it will be some time yet therefore concluding there will be much demand continuing for DVD duplication.
