AllSecure Global Weekend Preparedness Tip for the Wealthy and Ultra Affluent - "You Can't Eat Gold".

We are often asked by clients and potential clients “how much gold and silver should I have?” Our answer usually surprises them. The bottom-line is that "yes" gold and silver should be a part of your preparedness planning but you can't eat it.

PRLog - Jan. 14, 2011 - We are often asked by clients and potential clients “how much gold and silver should I have?”  Our answer usually surprises them.

The reality is that if there is a massive catastrophe or a breakdown in social order, gold and silver may be worthless, at least until some form of social order returns.

Imagine this scenario:  All hell has broken loose, there is no electricity, all store shelves are empty and there is no running water.  And by most accounts, the problem is nation-wide and there will be no credible relief for at least 3 – 6 months.  Yes, things are really bad.

Now imagine you have some extra food but need some water.  Maybe you did not store enough or maybe most of what you did store was contaminated.  Whatever the reason, you need some more water.

You run across a guy who needs food desperately.  You offer to barter with him.  He has gold and water to trade.  What will you take in exchange for your food?  I hope you take the water.

The bottom line is that gold and silver are only worth what people think they are worth.  They are money equivalents and depend upon a functioning society to have value.  Food and water will always have value as everyone needs them to survive.  No ifs, ands, or buts about it – they will always have value.

Yes, all affluent persons should have gold and silver as a part of your preparedness plan but gold and silver should not be at the expense of food, water and other preparedness supplies.  After all, you can’t eat gold.
