By: Hummingbird Media MacGavin, who was chosen as the winner by accessing and sharing new music on the HearIAm website, is the artistic personnel manager for Manhattan's Orchestra of St. Lukes. With a predominantly orchestral listening background, MacGavin registered and logged onto HearIAm to discover music he wouldn't have otherwise been exposed to. On November 10th, he received an email from Sennheiser notifying him that he won the Mexican phase of the campaign. "It wasn't until I actually got to Mexico that it all set in," MacGavin recalled. "I was just looking for new music to listen to and didn't really expect to win anything." For four days, MacGavin and his friends enjoyed a first-class experience courtesy of Sennheiser that included visits to regional tourist attractions, great food and of course great music. Sennheiser afforded MacGavin the opportunity to travel in style, providing him with a pair of Sennheiser PXC 450 headphones, which feature Sennheiser's Noise Gard 2.0 technology. "Once I tried these headphones on, I realized they were pretty amazing," MacGavin recalls. "Their construction, comfort and audio quality were superior to any other headphone I've tried." MacGavin, who is an avid music fan, not only appreciated HearIAm as a fantastic way to discover and share new music, but also recognizes it as an innovative program for bands to get the recognition they deserve: "I was amazed at the kind of opportunities HearIAm presented to both fans and bands. It is exciting to see all these bands participating in HearIAm and gaining the recognition they deserve. For consumers such as myself, HearIAm is a completely fresh way of accessing new, high quality music." Sennheiser launched its HearIAm campaign last June in conjunction with PickTheBand.com and Universal Republic Records. Since then, thousands of fans have registered to discover and share new music, and over 1,500 bands from the Americas have submitted their music to the site. Fans and musicians from all over the Americas are encouraged to register and participate in the campaign, which will present even more opportunities this March in Austin TX before the campaign wraps up later this spring.
