The IHN e-mail was sent out to local churches within the IHN network, in an effort to raise funds to pay the hotel bill for three homeless families that needed a place to stay on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Dawn Corlew, Associate Pastor at Medford United Methodist Church (MUMC), forwarded the plea to Ms. Lustig, who is a member of the MUMC congregation.
Upon receipt of the request for assistance, Ms. Lustig immediately notified Rishi Shah, General Manager of the Wyndham of the plea for help that she had discovered.
“Let’s host the families here.”, said Mr. Shah. “We would be happy to help these families in need and hopefully we can make this Christmas a more memorable one for them.”
Upon arrival, each family was checked-in to a Junior Suite, which featured a separate bedroom and living room with a refrigerator and a microwave oven. The families also were able to enjoy the indoor pool and Jacuzzi during stay.
