Shannon McKinney announces the publication of Emerald Edges, a collection of short stories.

Clark Reece, a Seattle reporter, is a reoccurring character in this work of fiction. Reece reconnects with family and with the help of a young girl regains a faith in God, lost after his young son was killed in a tragic accident.
While researching an article, he reconciles with his great aunt Nila, a fiercely loyal, strong-willed business woman.  She and Clark are the only surviving members of a family that established a place in the early history of Seattle.

Shannon McKinney is a retired teacher and writer from Southern Indiana. Emerald Edges is her first collection of short stories. McKinney is also the author of two poetry books, Apple Skins and Blackberry Jam. Blackberry Jam is a colorfully illustrated collection of delightful children's poems, protraying childhood experiences--the magical, the imaginary, and the magical. McKinney's novel, Fences, depicts a turbulent time in the early 70's when, for a short time, busing became the principal tool used by federal courts to integrate northern suburban schools.
