(January 10, 2011, Warren, Mich.) Alisa Shakespeare found a winning strategy for her confection company by joining forces with JL Manufacturing Company of Warren, Mich. The exciting new Zooliboom and Zoppitty brands will launch with over 150 fun, gourmet confections and a new website on January 16, 2011. The launch coincides with the brands’ debut at the Fancy Food Show in San Francisco. There, gift shop owners and gourmet retailers can feast their eyes on the unique packaging and taste the hand-made quality that Shakespeare is known for. Holiday lines include such unique treats as “Mistletoe Munch” and “Reindeer Food.” The new lines will feature themed chocolates and other confections for Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, Halloween and every day. An Iowa native, Shakespeare had a vision of creating a unique and fun candy company as a young college student. With hard assets of only two frying pans purchased at a garage sale for $2 each, Shakespeare began selling her chocolate roses at local establishments by night. The successful reception of her hand-crafted chocolates enabled her to purchase molds and other equipment, and to eventually grow her operation into a multi-million dollar business. The viability of her company was in jeopardy, however, during the recent recession. Even as popularity of her products was soaring, Shakespeare was struggling for financing. “After the economic collapse, I could have easily given up. But I didn’t want to let the dream die,” says Shakespeare. Shakespeare persevered, and by joining forces with JL Manufacturing, Zooliboom and Zoppitty is able to offer even more exciting hand-made treats that customers can’t get enough of. The company’s website, www.zooliboom.com, will launch January 16, 2011. End
