Second Edition of "Moses was a Liar" released

Jan. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- The second edition of the novel by South African writer Brian Stewart "Moses was a Liar" published by Raider Books NY, has been released and circulated to all outlets worldwide. The novel deals with the survival of a small group of airline passengers wrecked on a barren mountain top in Ethiopia after a worlwide Apocalypse. They, and their descendents  are exposed to extreme weather, a lack of sun for eighty years, religious bigotry, mysticism, barbarism and attacks by wild animals and cannibals.
Written in two distinct time zones, eighty years apart, the quite lengthy novel uses the Bible and the mythical legends of Moses and Noah as metaphores to reflect the lives and value systems of the people of Red Valley.
The author  weaves an intricate web of deceit and religious fanaticism mixed with the daily challenges of survival, negotiation and in-fighting which accompanies the plans of the descendents of the survivors to leave the valley in a new Exodus set to repopulate the world.
The book hits hard at the continued manipulation of man by poltical- and religious leaders and the consequences thereof and makes out a strong case for a world free of mysticism; but then the author illustrates how man's innate fear of the unknown influences his daily decisions, inexorably leading to further manipulation, warfare and suffering.
The book has received good reviews and has been described as controversial, thought provoking and realistic.
