Green Home Developer Announces Successful Close on First Funding Round

Jan. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- SEATTLE, Washington –  G2B Holdings, a Seattle-based company specializing in energy efficiency in residential redevelopment, announced today that it had successfully completed its first round of private equity funding.

The company, which buys homes, retrofits them for energy efficiency - and then returns them to market for a profit - expects to buy up to two homes a month for the coming year in the Seattle market.

“The seed capital gives us the needed liquidity to dive into the real estate market, realize discounts, and sustainably drive our mission of residential energy efficiency,” said G2B Holdings CEO Aaron Fairchild.

Previously known as G2B Ventures, the company also launched its new retail brand name of Green Canopy Homes.

In an indication of the ready flow of attractive properties, Green Canopy Homes has already purchased its first home following the funding round.   The project, dubbed “The Centennial House” for its 1911 original build date, will be a deep retrofit featuring high-performance insulation, air sealing, sustainable materials, and will offer a solar PV and thermal hot water upgrade package.  The project is expected to be completed by the end of April of this year.
