Bruce Buchanan Named Full Partner at Healthcare Management Partners

Jan. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Bruce Buchanan, a Managing Director at Healthcare Management Partners since 2008, has been admitted as a full partner in the firm effective January 1.  From his office in Arizona, Bruce will use his 30+ years of experience in the healthcare field to expand HMP’s presence, visibility and client services in the western United States.  

Bruce joins Scott Phillips, Michael Morgan, and Derek Pierce as the fourth partner of HMP.  Scott Phillips, HMP’s founder, commented “Bruce’s expertise as a multi-site health system CEO is a major asset to our company, and we look forward to working with him in his expanded role.”

Bruce’s location in Arizona will be vital as HMP continues expanding nationwide.  “We have seen many recent opportunities that require immediate on-the-ground expertise in the western region of the US.  At HMP, we are committed to providing exceptional service to our clients all over the country.  I am excited to continue my work with HMP with a new stake in the company.” says Bruce.  

Before joining HMP, Bruce served as CEO of Phoenix Baptist Hospital, where he turned around the distressed 236-bed teaching hospital by reducing operating costs while enhancing the quality of care.  Bruce led a similar turnaround at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, including recruiting new physicians, doubling the hospital’s physical space and growing market share.  He also served as president and CEO of Atlanta Medical Center and Mercy Health System Oklahoma and its Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City.  Bruce previously held senior management positions with Hillcrest Healthcare System and Saint Joseph Hospital and worked for Invalesco Group as an operations consultant to healthcare organizations.
