Jan. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- South Weymouth, MA - FUN Enterprises, Inc. will be joining the Williamstown Youth Center for their annual SNOWFEST event at the Williams College field house on Sunday, January 9th.

SNOWFEST, now in its eighth year, is a fundraiser created to support the Williamstown Youth Center in their efforts to provide after school programs, recreational sports programs and summer and school vacation camps to youth throughout the community.  This is FUN Enterprises sixth year providing entertainment programs at the event.  The program lineup includes airbrush winter hats, caricature artists, spin art shutter shades and Frisbees and photo magnets.

Sunday marks the 1st anniversary of the Together We Can Campaign, an effort to raise funds for the construction of a new youth center in Williamstown that was kicked off at last year’s event.  The new building will be constructed on the elementary school grounds bringing it closer to students who would normally walk to the current location for after school programs.  The fundraising goal is $3.5 million, started with a $1 million donation from a local family to be supplemented with $2.5 million in fundraising over the 1 year period.

Williamstown Youth Center Executive Director David Rempell spoke to the success of the Together We Can Campaign and the support of the local community.  “We looked for public funding to help with this project,” said Rempell, “but we weren’t able to receive any.  We have raised $3.35 million in cash and pledges during the current economic situation…for some of our donors this is the largest one time pledge they have ever made.”

FUN Enterprises and Williamstown Youth Center staff will be assisted by student athletes from Williams College as well as students involved with the SMILE group at Mt. Greylock Regional High School.  FUN Enterprises first joined the event in 2006 when Williamstown Youth Center board member Elinor Goodwin invited long time friend and FUN Enterprises co-owner Ken Abrahams to join the roster of inflatables and interactive games.
