Jan. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- LAS VEGAS – January 6, 2011: Switch on and switch off: the new Bluetooth models of Sennheiser’s Travel Line with their active noise cancellation system let you travel in peace. The PXC 360 BT headphones and the MM 550 TRAVEL headset are equipped with NoiseGard 2.0 and effectively shield against external noise. As a result, you can sit back and enjoy top-quality sound even in noisy surroundings: proven Sennheiser acoustics and SRS WOW HD™ surround sound technology guarantee a journey into a very special world of sound.

“The PXC 360 BT and the MM 550 TRAVEL are the perfect companions for frequent travelers,” said Christian Ern, product manager at Sennheiser, describing the new travel models. “They not only effectively keep out most of the background noise, but they also combine high-end sound quality with the convenience of wireless audio transmission."

No matter whether you are traveling by plane on a business trip or taking the train to go on holiday, noisy surroundings mean that such journeys rarely offer a chance to relax. Sennheiser’s active noise-canceling system lets you simply ‘switch off’ annoying noise from aircraft engines and trains.  At the push of a button, NoiseGard 2.0 technology minimizes low-frequency background noise. The active noise-cancelling effect of the two travel headphones is supported by a high level of passive attenuation: the closed design, large circumaural ear cups and the use of noise-attenuating materials successfully keep out high-frequency noise. As a result the sound level is reduced by up to 23 dB. At the same time, the TalkThrough function allows you to conduct a conversation with your neighbor or the cabin crew whenever you like without removing the headphones.

Wireless headphones, unlimited music enjoyment
Whether you are using a mobile phone, MP3 player, computer or PDA – the Bluetooth interface of the PXC 360 BT and the MM 550 can connect with a wide range of portable video and audio devices. Thanks to apt-X codec technology, Bluetooth A2DP connectivity enables wireless streaming of excellent-quality digital audio with minimal delay. Powerful Neodymium magnets and Sennheiser’s Duofol diaphragms ensure detailed, lifelike sound reproduction in a frequency range of 15 to 22,000 Hertz. And the special SRS WOW HD™ feature immerses you in a fascinating world of sound: surround sound spatially expands the sound image to provide an intensive sound experience with powerful bass.

For those occasions when it is not possible to use Bluetooth on some airlines, the headphone set includes an audio cable and an adapter for use with in-flight entertainment systems – all you need for perfect relaxation above the clouds.

5-star comfort when telephoning
Traveling almost inevitably means making phone calls. “The MM 550 TRAVEL not only enables you listen to music without being disturbed, it also lets you make phone calls no matter how much background noise there is,” Ern explained. The NoiseGard function reduces the level of background noise during telephone calls, thus improving intelligibility. “Business travelers in particular who are constantly on the phone when traveling will appreciate the benefits of the MM 550 TRAVEL. The Bluetooth headset is a real sound upgrade for mobile phones." With the MM 550 TRAVEL, Sennheiser is expanding not only its Travel portfolio but also its successful ‘Mobile Music’ headset line.

A control unit integrated into the ear cup allows you to conveniently take incoming phone calls. A simple push of a button is enough to establish the connection. And the AVRCP Bluetooth protocol allows you not only to regulate the volume on the MM 550 and PXC 360 BT but also to select individual tracks. The Bluetooth, SurroundSound and NoiseGard functions can also be directly activated at the ear cups – taking you into a different world at the push of a button.

The PXC 360 BT (MSRP: $589.95) and the MM 550 TRAVEL ($649.95) are available now from selected consumer electronics retailers.
