Jan. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- After years of fantastic feedback, Oil and Gas IQ's successful Shutdowns and Turnarounds Forum returns for its 8th year. This is the largest gathering in Europe of shutdown, outage, maintenance and turnaround professionals across a range of continuous processing industries for two days of pure information sharing and networking.

This year's conference agenda includes leading contractors, consultants and technological experts including representatives from Shell, RWE npower and Air Liquide who will analyse HSE, costing, time lining, scope management, technology and efficiency best practice.

Previous delegates have found this case study lead agenda invaluable in keeping up to date on all turnaround issues.
Joe Sullivan, Outage Manager at Sellafield said of last years conference; 'A very good selection of speakers; with a high degree of relevant industry experience. This was valuable as I'm just moving into outage management and I've found the event very informative'

In conjunction with this event I am delighted to announce the release of our brand new podcast interview with Dr Paul Baguley, Research Fellow in Cost Engineering at Cranfield University and Peter Okafor, Head of the Department of Quantity Surveying at the Federal Polytechnic of Ogun State, Nigeria. Who discuss their discoveries regarding Life-Cycle Costing  (LCC) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) Methodology as concluded from their recent research.

They outline:

•   Technological challenges present in oil refinery shutdowns
•   How LCC methodology can help overcome these challenges.
•   CBS and how can it help those working on a shutdown.
•   What those working outside of the oil industry can takeaway from their research.

Dr. Baguley will expand further on these topics and more. If you would like to know more then please visit shutdownsandturnarounds.com or contact us on +44 (0)207 368 9300 or enquire@iqpc.co.uk
