Qdoba To Open 2,100 Square-foot Restaurant At The “shops On The Green” In Morristown

Jan. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- MORRISTOWN, N.J – Qdoba, a fast casual Mexican restaurant known for its famous Mission-style burritos, will soon be serving meals in downtown Morristown, NJ.

The restaurant signed a lease today for a 2,100-square foot space at the “Shops on the Green”, prime retail space that overlooks the Green in the heart of downtown Morristown.   The latest national tenant to commit to The Shops on the Green, Qdoba will be located next to the new AT&T retail store and is expected to open in April.

Qdoba, which has more than 500 restaurants nationwide including locations in The Mall at Short Hills and downtown Westfield, will join two other eateries at the Shops on the Green: Roots SteakHouse and Urban Table.  Roots SteakHouse is a classic, upscale steakhouse which originated in nearby Summit and enjoys a built-in following of loyal customers.  Roots will open its second location in a 6,000 square-foot space in Morristown this month.  Urban Table is a hip, urban-inspired hamburger restaurant which will open in a 4,700 square foot space in February.

“We continue to receive significant interest in the Shops on the Green from retailers who want to take advantage of Morristown’s vibrant, pedestrian-friendly downtown,” said Debra Tantleff, a Vice President of Development at Roseland Property Company, which developed the Shops on the Green and hundreds of adjacent condominium and rental residences with joint venture partner, Woodmont Properties.

The Shops on the Green offers more than 70,000 square feet of retail space that serves as the foundation for the new 76-unit 40 Park condominium building and 130-unit Metropolitan at 40 Park rental building.  The retail is highly visible and easily accessible from Market Street, the Morristown Green and the 40 Park public piazza which leads to a new enclosed public parking garage.  The restaurants will offer both indoor and outdoor seating.
