SMS - A New, Affordable Avenue for Attendee Interaction

Jan. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- AVMG's top-notch IT department paired with consistent research and development, regularly allows for new products and services to be offered to our clients.  One of our most recent advances was used at this year's Medical Group Management Association's (MGMA) Annual Conference in New Orleans, LA.

In an effort to go green and alleviate the pressure of collecting each individual piece of paper with the attendees' questions, and to eliminate the hassle of Audience Response Systems, SMS messaging was used to discuss the state of the industry in the Town Hall Session.  At the beginning of the session, a slide was displayed in the room and kept up during the entire session with the phone number to submit questions to and information about the topic at hand for attendees to reference.  

(Also available, is the option for clients to send out promotional pieces/emails to attendees with instructions for pre-submitting their questions.  This can be done a couple weeks prior to the meeting for organizational purposes and to start engaging your audience well before the meeting begins).

The questions submitted by the attendees were sent to a designated administrator who sorted through them, and then forwarded on selected messengers to the moderators who read and answered the questions.  This allowed for additional interaction for audience members throughout the meeting.

The new SMS service was extremely easy for attendees to use and was very well-received during the MGMA Annual Conference.  Attendees were eager to participate and see their questions displayed on the screen and answered by the moderator.  The client enjoyed this exciting, new technology and the advantages it brought about for their meeting.  They were pleased to introduce it into the MGMA Annual Conference and plan to continue the services in the future.
