eDoctor, Inc. Raising Awareness to Prevent 2012/13 MIPPA Penalties

Jan. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- eDoctor, Inc., a web-based health IT company, announced today that physicians can avoid 2012 and 2013 MIPPA penalties by taking advantage of eDoctor’s affordable and easy e-prescribing program.

According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)’s 2011 Electronic Prescribing (eRx) Incentive Update published in November 2010, e-prescribing data from January 1, 2011 to June 30, 2011 will be used to determine if physicians are subject to 2011 penaltiies.

“At the end of November, CMS finalized a policy in which practitioners need to do e-prescribing ten times by June of 2011, or else they would be hit with a 1% penalty in 2012. This last-minute change by CMS still gives doctors time to not only avoid 2012 penalties, but also to take advantage of the 1% reimbursement for all of 2011,” said Se Kang, President of eDoctor, Inc.
