Government Contracts Partner Named to “Lawyers of the Year” List by Law Week Colorado

Jan. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- DENVER - McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP (MLA) is pleased to announce that Tom Lemmer, who heads the firm’s Government Contracts practice in Denver, was honored by Law Week Colorado as one of its “Lawyers of the Year.”  

Lemmer was recognized for multiple successes in 2010, including his representation of a client in an $8 million matter that is a seminal case defining which independent research and development costs are reimbursable under federal government contracts, ATK Thiokol, Inc. v. United States, 68 Fed. CI. 612 (2005), aff’d 598 F.3d 1329 (Fed. Cir. 2010).  The definition affects virtually every business performing contracts for the government.  Lemmer is recognized nationally for his experience and skill in resolving complex cost accounting  and performance issues under contracts with the government.  Lemmer also plays an ongoing key role managing MLA’s government contracts practice, the largest and most successful in the country.

With a background in accounting as a non-practicing Certified Public Accountant, he is a fellow member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  Lemmer is listed by Martindale-Hubbell as an AV Preeminent Rated Lawyer™. He is a recipient of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) Fellow Award, which is reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions in the field of government contracting and to the NCMA.
