New Factory Move for South West Manufacturer

Jan. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Ivybridge, Devon, The manufacturer who has thwarted difficult economic conditions and continued to grow over recent years has also just employed four new team members.

Luminati Waycon Ltd design and manufacture a wide range of acrylic products including; display cases and cabinets, merchandising and
point of sale display display systems, desks and IT accessories, laptop stands, sign holders, cake stands and modern furniture which are sold predominantly direct to key accounts and via their websites.

A Paignton based business was originally purchased by directors, Steve Senior and John Gall, in May 2002. Manufacturing quickly moved to Redlake Industrial Estate at Ivybridge and the directors have increased the original nine employee business into a growing, profitable company employing over 35 employees with a turn over of £2.1million.

Steve Senior, director said; “Our marketing strategy has concentrated on a wide range of market sectors where added value can be made through bespoke design, product innovation and quality. Our display products help our customers sell products and services so we constantly need to be ahead of the game and offer them innovative products that work. We have often won back work from China from companies seeking to source locally, ethically and purchase in smaller batches with shorter lead times. Our business strategy allows clients to have a one stop shop that includes the design of products as well as manufacture.”

A complete overhaul of the manufacturing side of the business to reduce costs and improve productivity efficiency over the past eight years has ensured Luminati was in good shape not only to weather the current economic storm but to continue to grow despite of it. The business has expanded its product offerings to a wider range of both commercial and lifestyle items including modern furniture.

John Gall, director explains: “Our previous premises were built specifically for the china clay industry and although an interesting part of this area’s industrial past it has imposed some restrictions on our growth and manufacturing development. This move to a purpose built manufacturing and show room facility at Lee Mill will enable us to continue to grow and develop a wider range of products and services.”
