Devon Prep Parents Gather for Annual Christmas Gala

The Main Line Private School parents and friends kicked off the holiday season with a gala in a nearly 100 year old mansion.
 
Dec. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- Kicking off the Holiday Season on Saturday, December 4, Devon Preparatory School’s Parents Association hosted a Christmas Gala in the beautifully decorated Calasanctius Hall on the school’s campus in Devon. The nearly 100 year old mansion served as the perfect setting for this annual event which drew nearly 200 parents, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of Devon Prep.

Mrs. Nancy Bonner of Havertown served as chair with assistance from committee members Mrs. Colleen Backskai of Berwyn, Mrs. Joan Hardaway of Philadelphia, Mrs. Katheryn Kapman of Havertown, and Mrs. Maureen Bauers of Phoenixville. The hors d’oeuvres and lite fare were provided by Mrs. Ruth Kalivas,

The evening included a raffle with several donated prizes including an overnight stay at the Union League with dinner for two; a custom family portrait by Jack Ansley Photography; and a beautiful handmade sterling silver necklace with pyrite, onyx, and quartz stones compliments of Shuler’s Jewelers of Norristown. Mr. Howard Zenker, owner of Shuler’s Jewelers and his wife Rosanna attended the Gala. He has been donating fine jewelry to Devon Prep’s Christmas Gala for over 25 years

Devon Prep’s Parents Association is an organization of current parents which supports the school through fundraising and volunteer efforts.

Devon Prep is a private Catholic, college preparatory school for young men in grades six to 12 conducted by the Piarist Fathers.
