Dec. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Nerds Support a local IT consulting company recently made a $200 donation to the South Florida Leukemia & Lymphoma society on behalf of Richard Curran and his company Expo Convention Contractors (http://www.expocci.com). This past month Nerds Support has launched an initiative to become more involved in the community. Their goal is to give away over $2,000 in 2011. They are doing this by choosing a featured client every month and then making a donation in their name. They are also making donations when companies set up an initial appointment to meet with them.

Scott Richman owner of Nerds Support says “We are looking for creative ways to get people actively involved in giving back to the community. Nerds Support is looking to inspire other companies to do the same. Although, we are a small business even small businesses can have a large impact.” Scott also shared that since they started this new community service initiative it has helped the business get to know their clients better which has resulted in building better business relationships.

Next month, Nerds Support will be making a donation to the foster child welfare agency 4Kids of South Florida (http://www.4kidsofsfl.org/ ) on behalf of their client Avinode. Avinode is the world’s leading online marketplace for air charter professionals (http://www.avinode.com ) and were Nerds Support’s November featured client of the month. Avinode employees decided that they would like to help 4Kids so Nerds Support arranged a tour of the facility and has invited Avinode to come and see how their donation will be put to use to help the foster children in our community.

“Out of all the ideas that we’ve had this year, this one has been the best. It brings me so much joy to be able to give back to our community and to share this experience with my clients.” says Scott Richman. Joanne Davis executive director of the South Florida Leukemia & Lymphoma society says “It’s great to see businesses giving back, every little bit helps”.
