Harry Reid named NoPoli.org "2010 Hypocrite of the Year"

Dec. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- (Washington DC) U.S. Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, “won” the title of “NoPoli.org 2010 Hypocrite of the Year.”  NoPoli Network News’ Board of Editors overwhelmingly chose Reid because he personified everything that is wrong with the political system and the nation’s current leadership.

“This was an easy decision for the members of NoPoli’s editorial board,” said Steve Kessler, NoPoli.org Editor-In-Chief. “Harry Reid routinely humiliates the office he holds when he uses his ‘selective memory’ to politicize issues and drive wedges between special interest groups.”

NoPoli.org highlighted two recent examples of Reid’s hypocritical lack of leadership in justifying his “win”.

1.   Senator Reid has spoken out against a religious organization that protests military families.  Reid took exception with the group’s invasion of the privacy of private citizens.   Hypocritically, however, the Senate Majority Leader would not denounce union organizations protesting outside the private homes of people who disagreed with their stance on various issues, going so far as to intimate innocent minor children.
2.   Just before the Senate adjourned for the Christmas break, Senator Reid called for a vote on the ‘Dream Act’, which would have granted amnesty and citizenship to young illegal immigrants.  Reid knew it would not pass because he had refused to negotiate modest changes that would have won over support of Republicans.  The “Leader” used the bill in a transparent attempt to humiliate the Republican party in the eyes of Latino voters.  Reid sacrificed innocent, deserving youth in an attempt to buy Latino votes which will be seen for exactly what it was.

“Reid is not a leader in any sense of the word,” said Kessler.  “He and his actions are key reasons our country is in this horrific financial state and why  extreme partisanship is destroying the well-being of our nation.”
