“Good Christmas” parodies some of the most popular Rap/Hip Hop and Pop music artists to-date, such as: Kanye West, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Rihanna, Baby, Plies, Waka, Willow Smith, Drake, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Wyclef and Chris Brown. This is the second Christmas parody from the 2-Cent group. Last year’s spoof, “2-Cent Christmas” http://www.youtube.com/
The music video is directed by Brandan “BMike” Odums. Odums is no stranger to music videos. He currently has 3 videos on steady rotation at MTV Jams, MTV Hits and VH1 Soul.
2-Cent is a collaborative effort of creative, frustrated, and comedic twenty-somethings. They all posses the innate ability to convey humor and urgency toward issues that plague not only New Orleans, but also America in general. 2-Cent is a PBS documentary, an SNL skit and an In Living Color spoof all rolled into one.
Equipped with social consciousness, music as the backdrop, and the cold hard facts, they have gained a loyal following, and won coveted awards, including an FYI 2008 NAACP award, and FYI Silverdocs: AFI Discovery Channel Documentary Film Festival Award for documentary filmmaking excellence. Mostly web-based, the show debuted Spring 2008 on air in New Orleans with ABC’s support. This is the first step in proving that 2-Cent is making big strides and praise-worthy “edutainment.”
