Dec. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- In a bid to facilitate the Cross-Straits exchanges and cooperation, the mainland would make rules of appellations of origins for certain aquatic products of Taiwan, the Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said recently.

Beijing-based Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits on June 29 this year signed a Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) and Across-straits Agreement on the Protection of IPR with Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation, both took effect from September 12. According to the ECFA, the mainland will loosen restrictions on Taiwan's 18 agriculture products, and the tariff of such products will be gradually reduced to zero from January 1, 2011.

Over three years, the value of agricultural exports of Taiwan to mainland is estimated to increase from 10.68 million USD in 2009 to 110 million USD, with tax relief of 2.23 millon USD.
