The Ford Fusion Hybrid and Ford Escape Hybrid carry all the same characteristics of the Ford vehicles America knows and loves.  These vehicles, available now at Don Chalmers Ford, are fuel efficient and will help drivers save money at the pump.

This hybrid is powered by a 2.5L Atkinson-Cycle I4 engine and an electric motor powered by a nickel-metal hydride battery.  The Fusion Hybrid can travel up to 47 miles per hour in Electric Vehicle mode alone, which is a higher speed than any other hybrid vehicle. The gas engine kicks in below 47 mph when extra power is needed and provides the main source of power when driving above 47 mph. The power sources combine to deliver a power rating of 191 net horsepower.  The 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid achieves an EPA-estimated 41 mpg.

The dashboard of the Fusion Hybrid features a Dual LCD SmartGauge™ Cluster with Eco Guide to help drivers achieve the most fuel efficiency while driving.  While driving, the screen shows leaves growing during efficient driving to show more miles per gallon and leaves fading during inefficient driving.
