“Journaling 101” is based on the works of two leading authorities on the use of journaling as a tool for healing: Ira Progoff and Kathleen Adams. The Carmel program will be led by Karen Tunney, a trained volunteer facilitator; the Yorktown program will be led by Robin Perlmutter, LMSW, Support Connection’s Clinical Director. Both facilitators are also cancer survivors.

There are numerous ways that creating a journal can help one cope, draw strength, clarity and wisdom from her experience. Techniques will be presented to encourage participants to use the written word, and art such as photographs and creative collages, to give form to their journey with cancer.

No writing or art experience is necessary. The workshop will be beneficial for those new to and those already experienced with journaling. All materials will be provided. Participants may come monthly or intermittently as desired, but pre-registration is required. Call Support Connection 914-962-6402 or 800-532-4290.
