PRLog -- Breathe Healthy's newest product, the Travel Halo™, lets users rest in an upright position, while stabilizing the head and neck. Its most common use is for traveling, such as in a car or plane. It can also be used anywhere that the head needs to be stabilized – for the elderly, infants, or even emergency response situations. “What is great about the product, apart from its small size and simplicity, is the fact that it helps to keep the head and neck in an ergonomic position” said Breathe Healthy’s owner, Michael Vahey. “Regular travel pillows just don’t perform well – they allow the head to move around, and often push the head forward at an awkward angle”.
The Travel Halo™ is unique because it operates in a different manner than the regular travel pillow. Ordinary “c-shaped”
travel pillows are designed to be worn around the neck. The head then rests on part of the travel pillow. “The biggest drawback of these types of pillows is that they allow the head to flop from side to side, which can be uncomfortable and potentially unsafe” said Vahey. The Travel Halo™ is not used around the neck. Instead, a headband with 2 small pillows on either side keeps the head stable and upright. “This design holds the head in a vertical position, and allows it to be fully reclined, because there is nothing behind the neck or head. It’s a more natural position. Also, the Travel Halo™ can be stored in a pouch that is small enough to fit in a pocket, and has a built-in eye mask for sleep.”
According to Breathe Healthy, the Travel Halo™ will be available by the end of 2010. They can be purchased at
