Connecticut Property Owners Alliance Prepares 2011 Legislative Agenda

Dec. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- The current state of the real estate industry in Connecticut's cities and towns leaves much to be desired. However, some legislative policies also leave much to be desired and  several issues will be in focus by the members of the CT Property Owners Alliance in 2011 at the State Capitol.

The Connecticut Property Owners Alliance, now operating in Waterbury, Meriden, New Britain, Torrington and New Haven is taking a pro-active stance on Connecticut’s housing policies by organizing landlords and property owners city by city in Connecticut.

Our legislative agenda besides supporting Urban Homesteading is going to seek increased loan sources for private developers, attempt to revisit the cost of dealing with evicted tenant’s possessions, eliminate the trigger that lowers the level for ordering costly lead paint abatement's, make the Fair Housing laws more balanced and examine the benefits of the “Smart Building Codes” to stimulate urban revitalization.

All landlords, REALTORS and investors should become involved with the efforts of the CT Property Owners Alliance. The Alliance provides educational seminars, offers discounted prices on essential real estate services and supplies resources such as tenant screening, property management forms and a landlord’s collection agency for its members.
