During the 90 day double blind placebo controlled trial involving 100 medical students from Southampton University Medical School there were 24 medically confirmed cases of upper respiratory tract infections (URTI) divided equally between placebo and WGP groups. Participants taking the WGP ingredient reported 43 fewer days of symptoms than their classmates who received a placebo. There was also a statistically significant trend towards reduced symptom severity in the active group compared with the placebo.
