Dec. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- MANCHESTER-based Lincocare, the sun and personal care products manufacturer and distributor, has signed up to a two-year support programme with Marie Curie Cancer Care that is expected to generate a significant donation for the charity.

The deal between the 30 year old Carrington firm which exports to 60 countries and Marie Curie begins in January and follows on from a successful collaboration over the hugely popular NatWest One Day Internationals cricket series.

Linco supplied Calypso Press & Protect sun lotion for fans who attended last summer’s 15 matches in the series. Fans made a small donation to Marie Curie in return for the sachets of sun care.

That promotion led to talks about further collaborative projects and now Linco Care has committed to continue to work with the charity.

Linco Care Managing Director Mr Farhad Seka said: “I am delighted that we are now working alongside Marie Curie who do so much for those people who are battling cancer. After all we produce a number of sun protection products that are very relevant to cancer prevention.

“We recently launched our Calypso Press & Protect lotion which is the only sun care product to supply users with detailed information on the minimum quantity required for adequate protection from the sun.

“We are also producing a 50 spf once a day sun cream to give users the peace of mind to know they are being properly protected from exposure to the sun’s rays which, as we all know these days, can be damaging for the skin.

“That is why we are in the process of going for a five star UVA protection rating on all our sun care products.

“But sun care isn’t out only link with the subject of cancer. Under our brand name Dimples we have produced a new range of lightweight wigs which are known as the Feather Premier Collection.  These are particularly suitable for women who have suffered hair loss as a result of receiving chemotherapy treatment in their battle with this terrible disease.

Mr Seka said the Marie Curie deal means a percentage of all sales from Calypso sun care and from Dimples Feather Collection wigs would be donated to Marie Curie. In return Linco Care has been granted permission to use the Marie Curie logo on some Calypso and Dimples products over the two year period.

“Everybody at Linco Care is looking forward to working with Marie Curie Cancer Care and we are confident that it will produce a much needed boost in funds for this very special charity,” added Mr Seka.
