Android phone will transmit data by touching each other

Dec. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- According to the agreement between the semiconductor manufacturer NXP and Google, the technology -NFC will be integrated into the latest version of the Android platform called Gingerbread.


NXP PN544 chip, based on the latest NFC technology that has been integrated into the phone, has launched recently by Google. That is the Nexus S. Nexus S handset is made by co-development: Google and Samsung, the users can access services and applications based on NFC technology equipped on this phone.
NFC helps to transmit information between two devices when they touch or next to each other. Users can transmit text messages, images and other data in the near distance (4-10 cm).


Android is popular and appearing more and more on smart phones and mobile devices. Currently, Android has more than 100,000 applications and can expand more by the contributions from the developer community. According to NXP, the developer is able to access NXP open source and NFC Company also hopes to receive the support from developers to create more new applications. Eric Chu, the program director about mobile platforms of Google said about the appearance of NFC in the smartphone using Android will offer developers, service providers and equipment manufacturers new opportunities to help users more enjoyable experience when interacting with applications that they have never known.


Ruediger Stroh, the vice president and chief executive of NXP, shares NFC that is seen as a catalyst to create new wind for applications on mobile devices; open source development environment will create a revolution for new services and applications on mobile devices.
