Lyons Academy of Irish Dance Featured in The Relevant Stage's 'The Christmas Carol' in San Pedro

Dec. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Join Scrooge, Tiny Tim and the Spirits as they and a bevy of carolers and dancers as they ring in the holidays with this Dickens classic accompanied by old European carols.

December 21, 22 or 23 at 8PM or 24 & 26 at 2:30PM at San Pedro’s Warner Grand Theatre located at 478 West 6th Street (90731).

Tickets are just $20-$30 for adults, $15-$25 for Seniors and College Students, and $5-$10 for those 18 years and younger.  For $40, you can enjoy a sampling of fine wines at a tasting hosted by Off The Vine.  Your admission is included in that price.

In this third year producing the annual holiday treat, The Christmas Carol, The Relevant Stage is collaborating with People’s Yoga, Health and Dance as well as The Lyons Academy of Irish Dance to bring added entertainment to the Fezziwig party scene.  With its largest cast yet, The Christmas Carol is a “can’t miss” yuletide gift that every family should come out to enjoy.

Rachel Maldonado, Maggie Campbell, Rosie Razo, Katie De La Hunt, Mira Kalmey, Alexandra Kovary, Annie Evans, Ryan Evans, and Paula Dowdell are the nine, featured dancers.

Meredith Lyons is the owner and director of the Lyons Academy of Irish Dance. She began dancing and competing in 1993, qualifying five times for the World Championships in Ireland, as well as competing in Regional and National Championships throughout the U.S. Meredith has toured as a dancer with the band, “Men of Worth,” appeared dancing on an episode of, “Scrubs,” and was featured on a video for Jib Jab Media. Under Meredith’s direction, The Lyons Academy has performed locally as the opening act four times at the Grand Annex, and once at The Target Music Festival at Peck Park.

The Lyons Academy of Irish Dance offers a learning environment where dancers develop coordination, rhythm, grace, personal achievement, teamwork and confidence through the art of traditional Irish step-dance. With a strong emphasis on proper technique and development of skill, dancers can further their dance experience through participation in performance and competition opportunities throughout the year.
