Las Vegas, NV – Share the Springs Preserve with your favorite kids! Children receive free general admission during Clark County Schools scheduled winter break. Monday, December 20 - January 3, 2011, General admission for children is free when accompanied by paid adult (does not include Holiday Spectacular admission). With a wide variety of fun activities included with entry, the Springs Preserve is the perfect place for the young and the young at heart.

Wings Over the Springs - Get up close and personal with hawk eagles, falcons, owls, cravens and more during dramatic free-flight presentations. This exciting new show that can only be seen at the Springs Preserve explores the role these majestic birds of prey play in sustaining our environment. Visitors will see: Eurasian Eagle Owl, Saker Falcon, Barbary Saker Falcon, Lanner Barbary, African Hawk Eagle, Barbary, Red Necked Falcon, and African Crow Raven. Shows take place Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. with additional shows scheduled for Clark County public school holidays. Living Collections - Provides a firsthand view of how animals like the desert cottontail, desert tortoise, kangaroo rat, pocket gopher and gray fox have adapted to the harsh climate of the desert.

Children's Playground - Kids can take a journey through the past in our desert canyon themed playground. Oversized replicas of peregrine falcons, a wooly mammoth skeleton and a sidewinder snake are just a few of the sights to see. Imagine a trip through the old west on our train or play in our large sandbox.

Nature Exchange -The perfect place for budding archaeologists and scientists alike. Designed to encourage responsible and ethical collecting, the program encourages children to bring in shells, rocks, bark, pinecones and more. Points are awarded for their treasured finds and can be banked or exchanged for another item.

The Sustainability Gallery - Keeps the young ones entertained with a children's play area and a Compost Crawl where kids can explore a tunnel through a giant compost heap to discover the composition and benefits of composting. The soft foam sculpted compost pile contains larger-than-life earthworms, banana peels and yard clippings that help kids learn why natural, organic, nutrient-rich compost is good for the environment and your garden.

A gift membership is the perfect way to share the Springs Preserve with family and friends and easy-to-purchase gift cards are available on-line or at the Springs Preserve Ticketing Office. All memberships include year-round access to the Springs Preserve (Half-off admission to select special events), early hours entry to gardens and trails, discounts to classes and workshops, the Gift Shop, and the Springs Cafe by Wolfgang Puck. Plus, a subscription to the member newsletter. There are a variety of gift options to choose from starting with an Individual membership ($25), a Family membership $(60) which includes two (2) adults and all children in same household ages 5 - 17 (children 4  and under are always free), or a Bronze Family membership ($100) which includes all member benefits plus extras including free stroller rental, preferred parking, and 2 free guest passes.
