Dec. 14, 2010 - PRLog -- “The Nissan LEAF is a transformative vehicle, and we are looking forward to helping usher in the new era of electric vehicles to Arizona,” said Jay Carley, Owner and General Manager. “ABC Nissan is honored to play an important part in this groundbreaking delivery, and in bringing the Nissan LEAF and zero-emission vehicles to Phoenix.”   http://www.abcnissan.com/new-inventory/leaf.htm

Seif, 51, was born in Tehran, Iran, and moved to Arizona 32 years ago. He received a PhD in BioEngineering from Arizona State University. Married with four children, Seif is the inventor of LiteGait and founder of Tempe-based Mobility Research, a role that has him traveling extensively lecturing to physical therapists at rehabilitation facilities. A bioengineer who works in transfer of technology from lab into rehabilitation, Seif says he is proud to be part of the implementation of another transfer of technology – one that is friendly to the Earth and a step towards energy independence. http://www.abcnissan.com/new-inventory/leaf.htm

“Congratulations to ABC Nissan and to Arizona’s first customer, Amir Seif, for joining together in support of zero-emission vehicles,” said Brian Carolin, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing, Nissan North America. “ABC Nissan is a strong partner in Phoenix, and we’re proud ABC is helping forge the way in bringing the Nissan LEAF to the mass market.”

The 2011 Nissan LEAF, the world’s first affordable, zero-emission car, ushers in a new era of mobility – the “no gas, no tailpipe” zero-emission era.  Designed specifically for a lithium-ion battery-powered chassis, LEAF is a medium-size hatchback that seats five adults comfortably and has a range of 100 miles (U.S. LA4 cycle) on one full charge to satisfy real-world consumer requirements.

The all-new Nissan LEAF is powered by a lithium-ion battery that generates 107 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque, providing a highly responsive, fun-to-drive experience that is in keeping with what consumers have come to expect from traditional, gasoline-powered vehicles.  Unlike internal-combustion engine-equipped vehicles, LEAF’s powertrain has no tailpipe and thus no emission of CO2 or other greenhouse gases while being driven.

The Nissan LEAF can be charged up to 80 percent of its full capacity in 30 minutes when equipped with a quick charge port and using a DC fast charger.  Charging at home through a 220V outlet is estimated to take approximately eight hours.  The advanced lithium-ion battery pack carries an industry-competitive warranty of eight years or 100,000 miles.
