Stamford Nissan Dealer to Welcome 2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet

Dec. 14, 2010 - PRLog -- The highly anticipated 2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet will be available for Stamford Nissan shoppers in early 2011 at Nissan Darien.  The world’s first all-wheel drive crossover convertible breaks new ground in both the crossover SUV and convertible segments.

The new convertible Murano made its world debut at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show and will arrive at Stamford Nissan dealers in just a few short months.  The world's first all-wheel drive crossover convertible, delivers the open-air exhilaration of a convertible while extending the versatility of the Murano in exciting new ways. The Murano CrossCabriolet offers room for four adults, space for golf bags or luggage (even with the top down), and a premium level interior.

It melds the "sophistication of a sedan" with the "utility of a sport utility," says Brian Carolin, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing for Nissan, in a recent Automotive News interview.
Stamford Nissan shoppers will only have 1 trim to choose from when it goes on sale early next year, however they will find that exterior features are generous. From HID bi-xenon headlamps and LED taillights, to fog lights and body colored bumpers and facades, the CrossCabriolet will arrive plentifully equipped. Six colors are available and include Sunset Bronze, Caribbean, Merlot, Platinum Graphite, Super Black, and Pearl White.

Outisde, the new Murano CrossCabriolet retains the traditional Murano silhouette with the top up, and a luxurious, sophisticated appearance with the top down. One of the keys to the CrossCabriolet’s design’s success is the convertible top’s exceptionally compact size when stowed, which allows both additional interior and cargo volume (normally taken up by a traditional convertible stowage design).

With the top down, the stowed size is similar to that of a conventional 2-seat roadster. Trunk capacity with the top down is 7.6 cubic feet, enough to fit two sets of golf clubs or two carry-on suitcases. With the top closed, cargo capacity expands to 12.3 cubic feet. The convertible top is open and closed using a hydraulically operated top mechanism
