Bohemia Interactive Simulations and Caspian Learning Unveil Rapid Military Simulation Tool

Bohemia Interactive Simulations is the leading provider of 3D virtual battlefields for training to the military.  They have been serving the military simulation community for almost a decade and have brought their gold standard and industry leading simulation product “VBS2” to the partnership. VBS2 – Virtual Battlespace 2 – is a fully interactive, 3D, PC-based synthetic environment specifically developed for military training, mission rehearsal and analysis.

Caspian Learning has brought its multi award winning and globally unique rapid 3D simulation authoring software, Thinking Worlds, to the partnership. Thinking Worlds enables the new technology to capitalise on both the its true thin client and mobile delivery mechanisms and its rapid simulation and scenario editing capabilities.

VBS Worlds was unveiled to great excitement last week at I/ITSEC. VBS Worlds is the first major product launch from the Joint Venture created by Bohemia Interactive Simulations and Caspian Learning earlier in 2010. VBS Worlds solves major issues affecting military clients by enabling 3D simulations to be:
•   Theatre Responsive – developed in rapid timescales
•   Integrated – interoperability with and re-use of the vast VBS2 art library
•   Networked – can be housed and delivered through secure intranets
•   Mobile – can be consumed through standard web browsers and on new mobile devices such as iPad and iPhone
