Untitled Sam Levinson Project Gets Accepted Into The Sundance Film Festival

Producer/ Writer/ Actor Datari Turner has reached another milestone with the untitled Sam Levinson Project - The Sundance Film Festival!

 
PRLog - Dec. 12, 2010 - CHICAGO -- Producer/ Writer/ Actor Datari Turner has reached another milestone. The film he produced "The Untitled Sam Levinson Project", formally called The Reasonable Bunch has just been accepted into the 2011 Sundance Film Festival as one of sixteen features that will compete against one another in the dramatic competition. All together their were a 115 features selected to compete in the dramatic, documentary and short film categories, out of a total 3,812 submissions (that's up from last year’s 3,724 submissions).

Sundance Film Festival director John Cooper said the event's 2011 lineup reflects the "very healthy" state of independent cinema and is the product of one of the most competitive selection processes in recent memory.

"The Untitled Sam Levinson Project", which was shot in Michigan, stars a plethora of A-List heavy weights Demi Moore, Ellen Burstyn, Kate Bosworth, Thomas Haden Church and Ellen Barkin. The phenomenal cast of the film has a combined twenty three Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations between them. The film is written and helmed by Sam Levinson. Sam is the son of Oscar winning Director Barry Levinson. In addition to Turner, the films other producers are Celine Rattray, Todd Traina, Gordon Bijelonic, Pamela Lynn Fielder, and Elana Krausz.

"We are all very excited about being in the exclusive club of only a small select number of films that were accepted into the world renowned film festival,"  Turner said. "Some of the producers like Celine and Gordon have been here before and even won, but this will be my first time." "This was a total team effort and I'm happy to be apart of it, " Turner added.

Including "The Untitled Sam Levinson Project" Turner currently has three films in production. The other films are Video Girl staring Meagan Good, Haylie Duff and Academy Award Nominee Ruby Dee. In addition to serving as the films producer, Turner also wrote the screenplay for Video Girl. Lastly theirs Dysfunctional Friends staring Stacey Dash, Terrell "T.O." Owens, Meagan Good, Stacy Keibler, Essence Atkins and Tatyana Ali. Turner serves as the films producer and Co- stars in the film as well.

Datari Turner is also the Creator and Executive Producer of the acclaimed hit series Lisa Raye the Real McCoy currently filming it's second season on Tvone/ Comcast. The reality series centers around actress/ model and former First Lady of the Turks and Caicos Islands Lisa Raye McCoy. The series broke records in it's first season becoming the highest rated series in the networks history.

Sterling Van Wagenen and Legendary Academy Award winning Actor/Director/Producer Robert Redford founded The Sundance Film Festival in 1978. The festival runs every year in late January in Park City, Utah. This year the festival runs Jan. 20-30.

The Sundance Film Festival is the largest and most prestigious independent cinema festival in the United States.
