Dec. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- NOAH’S ARK RECEIVES GRANT FROM PEDIGREE FOUNDATION

Organization plans to allocate funds to
finding homes for long-term resident dogs

Ledgewood—Noah’s Ark Animal Welfare Association, Inc. has been awarded a grant totaling nearly $700 courtesy of The PEDIGREE Foundation.  The funding will assist the Ledgewood-based non-profit organization in continuing its important work: finding loving homes for homeless dogs and cats in the area.

“We are most grateful to The PEDIGREE Foundation for this grant and for their commitment to saving the lives of homeless dogs,” says Todd Cramer, executive director of Noah’s Ark.

The PEDIGREE Foundation’s mission is to help save the more than four million dogs that end up in shelters and breed rescue organizations each year by offering grants to 501 (c)(3) shelters and rescue groups like Noah’s Ark — and by encouraging dog adoption.

With each purchase of a PEDIGREE-branded product, a donation is made to help further the foundation’s mission of finding loving homes for dogs who need them.

Noah’s Ark plans to allocate the generous grant towards its long-term resident dogs.  To promote the adoption of long-term guests, the organization will reduce adoption fees for these dogs and offer a free dog bed with each adoption.

“Some dogs are overlooked by adopters, and the funds will help us draw attention to just how wonderful they are,” Cramer says.

About Noah’s Ark

Noah’s Ark is a non-profit organization caring for animals for more than 40 years. Noah’s Ark operates a limited admission facility that adheres to an “adoption-focused” philosophy; no adoptable pet will be euthanized due to age, breed, lack of space or modifiable behavioral issues. The organization also provides additional animal-focused services, including a Spay-Neuter Hotline people can contact to receive coupons for reduced spay or neuter services from a network of veterinarians in the community.  Noah’s Ark relies on donations from the local community to support its work.
