Latham & Watkins COO Joins Pro Bono Net Board

Dec. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- Pro Bono Net, a leader in innovative programs that increase access to justice, is pleased to announce that LeeAnn Black, Chief Operating Officer at Latham & Watkins, has joined its Board of Directors.

Pro Bono Net is a national nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to justice. It partners with legal organizations to promote collaboration and maximize their impact, connects lawyers with resources to increase pro bono involvement, and provides legal assistance and information directly to the public.

Black has served as COO of Latham & Watkins since 1999. She oversees Latham’s global administrative team, is responsible for the firm’s strategic financial management and is a member of the Executive Committee, as well as the Audit Committee and Finance Committee. Black leads a team that spans 30 offices across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States. Prior to taking on the COO role, she was the Office Administrator of Latham’s New York office.

Latham & Watkins has a strong commitment to pro bono. In 2009, Latham provided approximately 250,000 hours of free legal services valued in excess of $100 million. In the past decade, Latham has provided more than 1.6 million hours of pro bono legal services.

Black joins 17 other members of the Pro Bono Net board, including representatives of leading law firms, legal services organizations and companies including Microsoft, Bank of America, ALM and LexisNexis.
