Dec. 6, 2010: Award-winning producers Susan Brown and Maryann Joffe are nominated for a $250K Pepsi Refresh grant to produce a documentary and learning guides to improve youth communication for organizations including Boys and Girls Clubs, law enforcement and school anger management programs. The Pepsi Refresh grant program awards $250K grants to the top two vote getters per month.
Producer Maryann Joffe, says, “I saw the effects in my home town, Deerfield Beach, FL, as a young teenager was beaten up due to media violence!  This is a national crisis and we want to produce and distribute the “Growing Up Violent” programs to turn things around."
Deputy Clem "Butch" Santy of the Deerfield Police Department adds, "It is my opinion this program will be extremely effective, informative and helpful as a tool to our anger management programs and will promote constructive conversations between parents and their children."
