What have YOU done to stimulate the economy?

When government bailouts don't work and businesses are hesitant to hire, ask consumers to stimulate the economy.

Dec. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- Consumers are tired of this recession, tired of government stimulus not working and tired of businesses not hiring. In the past the housing market drove us out of recessions, but not this time. That's why Yakatoi.com is asking consumers, “What have YOU done to stimulate the economy?”.  According to co-founder Matt Borack, “the consumer represents 2/3's of the economy. They have the financial might to get things moving again.”

The site allows consumers to write about their purchases in the hopes of motivating themselves and others. They're encouraged to invite their friends and create a group effort and group optimism. The recession is like a chicken-or-the-egg problem: You're afraid to spend, but if you don't, you make it worse. This site aims to address this by getting the ball rolling again.

Yakatoi is an early stage venture started in November 2010 to address the recession. It's aim is to encourage individual consumers to stimulate the economy by spending more and inviting others to do the same.
