Earthquake-resistant table, IXXI Safe Table

The technical features of the earthquake-resistant table enable it to support the impact of parts of the structure or finishings (concrete beams) that have collapsed during the earthquake tremors:

•   The high compressive strength offered by the triangular structure of its legs ensures an exceptionally high compressive strength.
•   Its chevron-patterned desk top allows a better absorption and distribution of the loads.
•   The metal foot-rest plates rigidify the structure and can be used to seat the pupils hiding under the table as soon as the first tremors are felt and during the after-shocks.  
•   Bottles of water can be placed in the bottle-holders for the survival of the pupils should they become isolated for some time.  

The table has received the NF Education Nationale homologation and was certified EN1729-2 compliant by the FCBA in July 2009 for its mechanical strength.

When pieces of ceiling or beams fall on the table, IXXI Safe Table does not collapse, IXXI Safe Table does not overturn, IXXI Safe Table does not move and forms a protective caisson and a real survival cell.
