National Development Institute Announces Scholarship Offering
To Aid Nonprofits in Their Fundraising Efforts

As nonprofit organizations experience the challenge of fundraising in the current economic climate, the National Development Institute equips nonprofit executives by providing them full-tuition scholarships to upcoming conferences on charitable fundraising.

Columbia, SC, December 1, 2010 –National Development Institute recently launched their new website (www.nonprofitconferences.org) designed to assist nonprofit organizations in major gifts fundraising efforts. Seasoned fundraisers as well as those who are new to the task of development can have access to resources, tools and guidance through this online offering.

With a faculty comprised of professionals who have raised millions of dollars for organizations around the world, National Development Institute offers this experience to other nonprofits in need of monetary contributions to keep their organizations running efficiently. NDI professionals work with donors and development officers in a corporate training setting and introduce them to the principles of ethical, permission-based, donor centric fundraising.

The National Development Institute’s new website features a complimentary resources section, covering topics such as major gifts acquisition, donor communication, video fundraising techniques, and effective telemarketing. This area of the site is designed to help organizations learn the basics of nonprofit fundraising as well as support the experienced professional in securing major gifts.

“Our staff at NDI offers years of experience bringing in five, six and even seven figure gifts from high net worth donors, and we want to use this experience to help other nonprofits not just survive but thrive,” said NDI Founder James P. LaRose. “We believe it is right to give back what we have learned to nonprofits who are out there trying to make a difference in the world.”

In addition to providing an informational website, the National Development Institute holds conferences and workshops around the country to help organizations of all sizes launch major gifts fundraising programs from scratch.

The conference’s target audience includes nonprofit executives, development officers, board members, volunteers, pastors, clergy and public relations staff who want to increase knowledge and skills in nonprofit advancement, fundraising and development.
NDI conferences cover topics ranging from the “Anatomy of a Perfect Capital Campaign” to the “Critical Dos and Don’ts of Major Gift Fundraising.” Participants receive strategies they can immediately put into action as well as samples, tools and hands-on materials they can take home with them.

According to LaRose, the purpose of the National Development Institute’s website and conferences is to put proven major gift strategies and tools into the hands of nonprofit organizations that need the assistance.

While some nonprofits are collapsing under the pressures of the current economic climate, LaRose explains this is unnecessary. “Even during tough economic times, nonprofits can secure the funds needed when they have access to the right tools and professional guidance,” said LaRose. “Significant gifts are given by people who possess a willing heart, and what we help organizations do is properly identify, engage, cultivate and invite individuals of means to invest with major gifts.”
